Is Spain the new Brazil? It sure seemed that way at the World Cup Tournament. The Spanish have never been known as World Cup contenders. In the history of the World Cup for example, the Spanish had never managed to reach the semi finals. Never mind that, they never managed to win four games in a row. And they have certainly never done what they did last night – beat out Paraguay to secure a spot in the quarter finals. So the question becomes, is this going to be a Spanish World Cup? This after Spaniards the world over spent the game biting their nails, knowing the Spanish team faced failure and a return home if they didn’t manage to win a game that was until then tied with no score.
As the Spanish team walked off the field, they held their heads proud and looked forward to a European matchup in their next game, since Germany managed to pull off a win against Argentina with a score of 4-0.
